As a global logistics service provider, Katoen Natie combines engineering, technology and port operations to offer worldwide, tailor-made solutions to the chemical and automotive industries, and to the consumer goods, electronics & retail sector. Katoen Natie has 181 logistic platforms and is active in 30 countries all over Europe, North America, South America and the Far East with a staff of more than 13.000 people.

Our Business Unit offers total solutions for specialty chemical producers, based on semi-industrial and engineering services. In addition to storage and handling we take care of all the value added services for your product, from blending and demetalizing to repackaging and optical sorting, and everything in between. To support this fast growing business unit, Katoen Natie is looking for a Commercial Manager EMEA for its site in Kallo (Antwerp) Belgium.

Your daily tasks :

  • Develop a solid commercial relationship with existing and potential clients
  • Proactively look for opportunities within the area
  • Analyze client requests and translate them into a technically correct and commercially attractive proposal after an in-depth cost analysis
  • Intensively collaborate with operational and administrative teams
  • Negotiate contracts with your clients at a high level, in concert with the Commercial Director
  • Translate contract awards towards the internal organization (finance, projects, etc.)
  • Occasional participation on the work floor to ensure that the customers’ requirements are met (focus: safety/quality/productivity)

You report to the Commercial Director who will take care of your personal development

  • A Master degree with at least 2 years sales experience, experience within a related industry is a plus
  • Excellent in Dutch and English communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), additional languages such as French, German or Spanish are an asset
  • Hands-on mentality, willingness to work on the floor, problem solver, strong negotiator, creative organizer and commercial flair
  • Like us you believe in customer-friendliness, economical thinking, eagerness to learn, motivation, innovation and responsibility
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In possession of a car driver's license
  • Customer-oriented and assertive, with a long-term vision and a commercial ‘flair’
  • Strong in data analytics and administration management
